- ➤ Monroe’s humane society is urging residents to adopt or foster pets as a second round of frigid weather nears later this week. The group warns that colder days may leave many animals at risk — prompting calls for safe homes. KNOE

- ➤ The West Monroe-West Ouachita Chamber of Commerce said it will offer space, time and resources to help small businesses and the public plan recovery efforts after the winter storm. Kris Kelley explained the plans on Good Morning ArkLaMiss. KNOE
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Utility leaders said over 30,000 residents remain without power after nearly a week of winter weather in north Louisiana. Officials provided an update on restoration efforts on Friday (which comes as more cold is expected). KNOE

- ➤ The Premier Pet Emergency Clinic in Monroe is temporarily closed after losing power in a winter storm and expects to reopen Monday evening. KNOE
- ➤ North Louisiana faced a severe winter storm that led to mental health challenges — including several suicide attempts reported in Ouachita Parish. Counseling experts urge residents to reach out to loved ones and limit social media use to ease stress. KNOE
