  • The Food Bank of Northeast Louisiana provided food for residents on Tuesday after the winter ice storm. Angela Austin (of West Monroe) and Devon Hall from Monroe reported the giveaways eased stress by helping families store extra food for future needs.  KNOE

CULTURE NEWS

  • Hondo Rodeo Fest is headed to the Superdome (April 10 to 12) and expects to draw crowds with a blend of traditional rodeo competition and modern music, offering a lively local cultural event for fans from Monroe and beyond.  KNOE

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Ponice Howard, owner and director of Heavenly Devine Early Learning Center in Bernice, was named a 2025 Shirley Chisholm Black Femme Leader Wellness Sistership Awardee by The Chisholm Legacy Project, recognizing her support for children amid funding and drainage challenges — her daughter Shannon Watts said she always pushes forward.  KNOE

HEALTH NEWS

  • A Calhoun man (Johnathan Spence) is recovering in Houston after undergoing spinal fusion surgery in Monroe following an injury from a winter storm tree limb; he will soon be transferred to rehab.  KNOE
