- ➤ Hondo Rodeo Fest is headed to the Superdome (April 10 to 12) and expects to draw crowds with a blend of traditional rodeo competition and modern music, offering a lively local cultural event for fans from Monroe and beyond. KNOE

- ➤ Ponice Howard, owner and director of Heavenly Devine Early Learning Center in Bernice, was named a 2025 Shirley Chisholm Black Femme Leader Wellness Sistership Awardee by The Chisholm Legacy Project, recognizing her support for children amid funding and drainage challenges — her daughter Shannon Watts said she always pushes forward.
