On Sunday at BoneKrushers Gym in Monroe, a local nonprofit hosted an event that saw boxing gloves swapped for cooking gloves as residents came together to give back to their community.
BK Mentoring turned BoneKrushers Gym into a community kitchen on Sunday — volunteers prepared red beans and rice, chicken three ways, gumbo and more to serve 700 meals to locals and inspire youth by showing the impact of community service.

On March 1, 1813, Louisiana’s Supreme Court met for the first time, established by the 1812 constitution + later serving as a key appeals court under five state constitutions.
This historic meeting marked an important milestone in the state’s legal evolution.
