- ➤ Turkey season begins later this month; a special weekend for youth and wheelchair hunters is set March 28—29 before statewide hunting opens on April 3. Hunters must carry the proper licenses, tags, and permits as required by state rules. KNOE
- ➤ The Ashley Observer, now under new ownership, is at risk of shutting down and its leadership is urging public support to keep the paper alive - a call for community action in preserving local journalism. KNOE

- ➤ The Louisiana Association of Business and Industry highlighted Louisiana's progress in tax policy, education and justice reform today + local leaders stressed that Monroe must be ready to welcome new investments. KNOE
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The Rev. John H. Scott Memorial Fund is awarding three scholarships to graduating seniors from Tensas, Madison, and East Carroll Parish (one for $8,000 and two for $4,000, including a special award for Madison students). Applications close Mar. 31, and awards will be presented in Madison Parish on May 2. KNOE

HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Community Wellness Hub of Monroe opened its new Orange Street location Monday, Mar. 23 to offer medical exams, virtual therapy sessions and wellness services for underserved residents (operating 9 a.m.-5 p.m. weekdays and 9 a.m.-noon Saturdays). KNOE
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ The Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office will host a bass fishing tournament on Lake D’Arbonne on April 25, with registration available at five locations (TP Outdoors, The Honey Hole Tackle Shop, Toledo Tackle, and North Delta Training Academy) or online via the parish website. KNOE
- ➤ Sam Goodwin, a well-known sports figure in Central Louisiana, passed away over the weekend. Local fans and teammates are remembering his contributions to the sports community. KNOE
