- ➤ West Monroe Parks & Recreation says Kiroli Park remains closed due to winter storm damage from January; a contractor is removing trees and repairs will take 2-3 months. Members buying or renewing from Jan. 24, 2025 to Jan. 23, 2026 will receive an extension equal to the closure period. KNOE
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Biedenharn Museum and Gardens is hosting a Meet the Artists reception and Bible Museum tours as Executive Director Ralph Calhoun explained on Good Morning ArkLaMiss. The event will offer visitors a chance to experience local art and history. KNOE
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Louisiana Delta Community College has graduated its first class from a four-week fiber technician program that prepares students for the Meta data center workforce — a new training course will start Monday in partnership with CBRE to build a local pipeline. KNOE
- ➤ The ULM School of Visual and Performing Arts will begin Cinderella performances tomorrow at Brown Auditorium with tickets priced at $20 — all proceeds support the school’s arts programs. KNOE
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ A new state law now offers free cancer screenings for firefighters with three or more years of service after West Monroe approved a screening contract last week, and tests are voluntary (not mandatory) to help catch early signs of cancer. KNOE
