The West Monroe High School boys’ powerlifting team won its first state championship since 2022 while the Caldwell Parish team finished runner-up in division II—marking a big day for powerlifting in Northeast Louisiana.
Individual titles were claimed by Kaloe Henderson in the 165 lb. class, Hunter Wright in the 123 lb. class, AJ Washington in super heavyweight and Damian Sanders in the 275 lb. class, with Christian Ponti breaking his own record by squatting 745 lb.
