  • Local organizers plan the MAD Dash 5K Fun Run — the event aims to support cancer patients and survivors in northeast Louisiana.  KNOE
  • On Monday, April 7 at 10 a.m., local community, business and elected leaders will gather on the steps of West Monroe City Hall (2305 N. 7th Street) for Leaders Against Litter, the kickoff for Love the Boot Week that will see cleanup events across Ouachita Parish from April 5 to 13.  MyArkLaMiss

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • On March 30, the Monroe Fire Department dealt with a structure fire at Saint Mary’s No. 2 Missionary Baptist Church on Williams Street where no injuries were reported & fire officials are now investigating the cause.  MyArkLaMiss

  • The Monroe Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring Leadership Ouachita—a year-long program to help 42 local business professionals build skills in budgeting, planning, and community improvements. Patience Tally, a 2021 program graduate and facilitator from Louisiana Delta, said the training prepares leaders for future economic changes.  MyArkLaMiss

  • On Mar. 31, the Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office and the Better Business Bureau warned residents of a phishing scheme—urging them to be cautious when opening messages or clicking links.  KNOE
