  • KNOE is giving away four family pack tickets to the Chennault Air Show with entries open until midnight April 27 and winners picked on April 28—contest details note that the air show runs May 2 to 4 with gates opening at 3 p.m. on May 2 and 3 and at 11 a.m. on May 4, and the show will start about 1 to 2 hours after the gates open.  KNOE

  • Mid South Extrusion, a family-owned film and bag manufacturer, is investing $12.5 million to expand its Monroe facility—adding two new polyethylene extrusion lines to boost production capacity.  The Ouachita Citizen

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Neville High School’s Blue Knights step team won the national championship at a national competition in Arlington, Texas — a win that crowned them the top all-male team in the nation — and school officials praised the athletes for their hard work and unity. The victory boosted student confidence and set a high standard for future competitions.  MyArkLaMiss

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy spoke on Good Morning ArkLaMiss about tariffs that he believes may be beneficial if they do not raise prices and warned that China’s counter-tariffs could hurt Louisiana farmers—he also discussed Louisiana’s federal flood prevention funds and urged the 2025 Legislative Session, which began April 14, to focus on investing in future jobs and community improvements for North Louisiana.  KNOE
  • Starting next month, all travelers must have a Real ID-compliant license or an alternative federally approved identification to board domestic flights and access federal sites. The Monroe Office of Motor Vehicles will offer extended hours on special Saturdays—April 26 and May 3 to help residents meet the May 7 deadline.  KNOE
