BUSINESS NEWS

  • The Monroe Chamber of Commerce has opened nominations for the 2026 T.H. Scott Awards to honor local businesses, nonprofits and individuals impacting Ouachita Parish. The awards ceremony is set for Thursday, May 21 at the Monroe Civic Center while nominations close Friday, April 24 (5 p.m.).  KNOE

CULTURE NEWS

  • On May 2 from 2-4 p.m., the Northeast Louisiana Children’s Museum will host Biscuits + Butterflies with Chef Pat Nolan serving homemade biscuits, jams, and jellies as guests enjoy cookie decorating and a live butterfly release in the museum's garden.  KNOE

EDUCATION NEWS

  • University of Louisiana Monroe has named Dr. Gina Craft as the new Dean of the College of Pharmacy pending approval from the University of Louisiana System Board of Supervisors (Craft is a 28-year veteran who served as Interim Dean since Aug. 2025).  KNOE

SPORTS NEWS

  • Monroe’s Moccasins ended their season with a 4-2 loss to Columbus in game three of the FPHL first round yesterday — the defeat ended their playoff campaign.  KNOE
