- ➤ Red Lobster’s Baton Rouge branch at Mall of Louisiana has closed with its iconic lobster sign taken down—now the chain’s only facility in Louisiana is in Monroe as it adjusts after emerging from bankruptcy. KNOE
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Chennault Aviation and Military Museum honored fallen service members in a Memorial Day event yesterday at the aviation park. Community members toured the museum & learned about veterans' stories and sacrifices from past wars. KNOE
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Governor Jeff Landry signed House Bill 286 into law today, making early career exposure a graduation requirement for K-12 students and aiming to boost local workforce opportunities (Pelican State initiative). KNOE
- ➤ Starting today, the DOTD is closing the west intersection of Blanchard Road and McMillian Road in West Monroe for a pedestrian safety project — drivers must use the east intersection. The closure to build a retaining wall is expected to last about two weeks if weather permits. KNOE
