➤ On June 4, a Senate Committee on Health and Welfare voted down HB 317, a bill by State Representative Michael Echols that would hold hospital owners liable for poor patient care at Glenwood Regional Medical Center—tested by Sterlington Mayor Matt Talbert's testimony and a 4 to 1 vote. Echols said he is looking forward to future efforts to keep hospital owners accountable. KNOE
