Discover Monroe West Monroe launched '50K for 50' on June 24 to invite local entrepreneurs, nonprofits and businesses to pitch creative tourism projects that will make Monroe and West Monroe more memorable for visitors.
Winners will share $50,000 based on selected ideas.

Officials reported 28 mosquito pools tested positive for West Nile Virus across 19 locations in the parish (including West Monroe and Calhoun) as summer continues.
