Rose is a gentle, spayed and housebroken pet available for adoption at the Ouachita Parish Animal Shelter, open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.—visit soon to give her a forever home.

Two-month-old kittens Thumbelina and Pipsqueak are available for adoption at River Cities Humane Society for Cats in Monroe.

The shelter is open Tuesday through Saturday — from noon to 6 p.m. with an $80 fee that covers spay/neuter, vaccinations, and microchipping.

LifeShare is hosting a series of blood drives throughout the summer to fight a 25% drop in donations that can limit blood available for iron transplants and heart surgeries.
