Elijah Mangum previewed upcoming movie releases for July 2026 with streaming sessions held Tuesday, June 30 at 9 a.m. and Wednesday, July 1 at 9 a.m. (past events) and a new session scheduled for Wednesday, July 10 at 4 p.m. to showcase fresh films.
At the Chennault Aviation and Military Museum, President Nell Calloway urged visitors on this Fourth of July to reflect on the sacrifices for American independence (she noted many children learn little about its true cost) during county celebrations.

Lincoln Parish Park was awarded a $1 million grant from the Louisiana Office of Community Development (Local Government Assistance) with an extra $50,000 from the Legacy Foundation; playground renovations will begin when park areas close Monday, July 6.
🏥 Health
Some canned Pedigree dog food, including High Protein Chopped Chicken and Duck Flavor with lot codes 613C3KKCFC and 613C1KKCFC, is recalled for possible metal — plastic contamination per FDA instructions.
Pet owners should stop using the product and call Pedigree at 1-800-525-5273 for a replacement.
Local leaders reported that an 87-page HHS/CMS report found two dozen alleged violations after reviewing 30 patient cases at North Louisiana Medical Center, and inspectors will return soon (staffing and financial challenges intensify regional EMS strain).
If fixes are not made, the Medicare agreement could end Aug. 30.
