The Northeast Louisiana Celtic Festival will take place Saturday, October 4 at Lazarre Park where the Jeter family and Enoch’s Irish Pub lead a celebration of Celtic heritage with family-friendly events including live local music, Highland games, and Irish fare from Flying Heart Brewery—admission is $5 and all proceeds support the festival.
General Claire Lee Chennault, founder of the Flying Tigers and a key WWII air force leader, died on July 27th, 1958; his legacy is honored at the Chennault Aviation and Military Museum in Monroe (housing the largest collection of his artifacts) and he is buried at Arlington National Cemetery (a national honor site).
