The West Monroe-West Ouachita Chamber of Commerce will host a ribbon cutting on August 6 at 11:30 a.m. at 11009 Hudson Lane in Monroe to celebrate Radio People’s 95th anniversary — community members are invited to attend.

Duck Commander will host a free community event in West Monroe on Sunday, August 31 from 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. to honor Phil Robertson's life and legacy— the event will include worship, live music, food trucks and special guests.

Traffic backed up on Highway 139 near Finks Hideaway Road due to a crash that affected both lanes—motorists were advised to take alternate routes while emergency crews cleared the scene.
