  • Monroe police arrested 51-year-old Fred Clark III on August 2 at 4:42 p.m. on Allen Avenue near Richmond Apartments after a witness said he allegedly produced a gun during an argument, shot a man in the torso, and fired at three men who entered his home uninvited to buy narcotics—he has been charged with illegal use of weapons, obstruction of justice, and second-degree murder.  MyArkLaMiss

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development will begin construction on US 165 near Teakwood Drive on August 25 to install a J-turn and remove the crossover at Ray Drive to improve traffic safety—lane closures will occur at night on a limited schedule until the work ends in November.  MyArkLaMiss
