Louisiana Purchase Gardens and Zoo has musk turtles in the Reptile Building, which is closed due to new exhibit construction.

General Curator Lisa Taylor explained the turtles grow to three to six inches, emit a strong odor to deter predators, and are omnivores that climb trees+ visitors can see them at educational programs once construction is completed.
