The West Monroe and West Ouachita Chamber of Commerce will host four events in August that focus on innovation, advocacy & connection.
These sessions will offer local businesses and residents a chance to network and learn in a supportive environment.
🎭 Culture
The Union Museum of History and Art in Farmerville will open its NASA exhibit on Thursday, Aug.
13 at noon. Visitors will see items from NASA Marshall Space Flight Center and hear a speech from public affairs officer Christopher Blair.
🎓 Education
Ouachita Parish teachers held a back-to-school training session in West Monroe yesterday to prepare parents as active learning partners for literacy and math support.
Plans include interactive parent conferences + literacy and math nights starting next week.
🏛️ Government
A proposed Amtrak rail line connecting Monroe and Ruston with major cities including Dallas and Atlanta will move forward once Gov.-approved funding is signed and renderings for a state-of-the-art downtown depot have been released.
The project will boost travel and local business.
