- ➤ Monroe Police arrested Kendrashawn Nichols on Thursday, August 7 for second degree murder, motor vehicle theft, and illegal possession of a stolen firearm linked to a homicide that began on Monday, August 4 at 9:56 p.m. when officers responded to a disturbance at 9 B Lock Drive and found an injured man who later died at a local hospital. - ➤ Hotel Monroe has opened with 69 upscale rooms, a rooftop bar, and event spaces—local businesses are already seeing a boost as guests increase restaurant and shop visits. Michael Echols and Alana Cooper say that the new hotel will spur more tourism and help downtown Monroe grow even further. KEDM

- ➤ Nutritionist Jen Avis explained on Good Morning ArkLaMiss that nearly half of people with severe latex allergies might develop symptoms (latex-fruit syndrome) when they eat foods like avocado, banana, chestnut, and kiwi.
