  • Boss Hogg is a radiated tortoise at Louisiana Purchase Gardens and Zoo in Monroe with a shell marked with yellow lines — he grazes for food and enjoys mud holes and back scratches. Zoo staff say he is at risk in the wild due to deforestation and the pet trade and that a new reptile exhibit is expected to open this spring.  KNOE

  • Monroe police responded to a Prune Street shooting on Monday that left a juvenile female dead and nineteen-year-old Emma Bueno hospitalized, with officials identifying her ex-boyfriend, 21-year-old Andricko Lamon Lewis Jr., as the suspect who was later found dead in a police chase—authorities say his death was self-inflicted.  KEDM
