  • On August 14th, Gov Landry wrote a letter to Mayor Friday Ellis advising that his appointment authority is on hold for 30 days while local officials work to confirm a qualified fire chief.   • City of Monroe is updating residents on the ongoing Desiard Street Project that runs from South Grand to North Sixth and affects local businesses like Fontenot’s Cajun Way—Phase One faces complications and Stage Two will begin after September as the city works to improve drainage and repair road damage.  KNOE
