ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • At 5:37 a.m. on August 19, West Monroe police responded to a crash on I-20 near Thomas Road that left a motorcyclist dead after his motorcycle caught fire — the right westbound lane remains blocked as the investigation continues.  MyArkLaMiss

CULTURE NEWS

  • Country star Dylan Scott will perform at Monroe Civic Center on Nov. 8 as part of his Easy Does It Tour—tickets go on sale Aug. 22 and he will be joined by Ashley Cooke and Zach John King.  KNOE
  • 90.3 KEDM Public Radio will hold The Boot on the Bayou gala on September 13 at the Bayou DeSiard Country Club to celebrate its 34-year service and five years of its Louisiana music program The Boot—attendees will enjoy live performances by local artists, hors d’oeuvres, cocktails, a silent auction, and view the LSU Tigers game on venue screens.  KEDM

HEALTH NEWS

  • Due to a broken water main, the Cheniere Drew North Water System in West Monroe is having water supply problems that affect about 23 service connections on Joseph Thomas Rd and in Calhoun. A limited boil advisory is in effect until further notice — customers must boil water for one full minute before using it.  MyArkLaMiss
