- ➤ Louisiana Purchase Gardens and Zoo in Monroe has welcomed Roux, a two-month-old striped skunk rescued from the wild who will help educate visitors about skunks and their role in the environment. Zookeeper John Hodges said skunks in North America carry sulfur in their scent that can cause temporary blindness in predators. KNOE
