  • The Physical Therapy Student Association at ULM is hosting the Miles from Motion 5K and Color Run today at the Grove behind the football stadium—participants check in at 7:30 a.m. and the race starts at 8 a.m.—with local vendors invited to register for a table.  MyArkLaMiss
  • Sadie is now available for adoption at the Ouachita Parish Animal Shelter—visitors can see pets on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.  KNOE
  • 90.3 KEDM Public Radio is eliminating its secondary audio stream KEDM Ideas in response to Congressional funding cuts, and it will keep offering local news, classical music, and regional music programming—serving Monroe with trusted local information.  MyArkLaMiss

  • Blue Bell is recalling its Moo-llennium Crunch ice cream after tubs were mistakenly labeled as Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough—even though the lid shows the correct flavor—because the mix-up may put those with nut allergies at risk. The product was distributed in states including Louisiana, and customers can return it for a full refund.  KNOE

CULTURE NEWS

  • Mark Henderson from the Louisiana Purchase Garden and Zoo introduced viewers to Landry, a three-year-old American alligator, during a special segment on Friday—he explained that alligators have webbed feet for swimming and noted that four rare albino alligators will soon have their own exhibit.  MyArkLaMiss
