Monroe will host a memorial ceremony to honor the victims and first responders of the Sept.

11 terrorist attacks at the Public Safety Center. The ceremony begins at 8:46 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 11 and features guest speaker Danielle Barton (Executive Assistant to Mayor Friday Ellis).

Residents gathered at Kiroli Park Lodge yesterday during the Bring Back Kiroli Community Breakfast to share ideas on reviving the 100-year-old park.

City leaders stressed balancing new amenities with preserving nature, and residents can still submit suggestions by calling the park office (8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.).

IES Communications has opened a new logistics and warehouse facility in West Monroe that will hire 50 employees by year's end and eventually add up to 1,000 jobs.
