- ➤ Antique Alley–West Monroe Merchants Association will host a Wine Walk on Thursday, Sept. 18 from 5 PM to 8 PM where guests can stroll through Antique Alley for complimentary wine tastings and shopping at local stores. Guests must be 21 or older and show a valid ID to participate. MyArkLaMiss
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A West Monroe man was arrested last week when deputies from Ouachita Parish charged him with robbing a pizza delivery driver at gunpoint—authorities said. The Ouachita Citizen
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Ouachita Parish Fire Department will host a regional training center this fall to offer key classes for firefighters in our area. Chief Bryan J. Adams and Chief Robert Moore said the center’s partnership with FETA will boost emergency response — a step to keep our communities safer. KNOE
- ➤ The City of Monroe will host a 9/11 Memorial Ceremony on September 11 at 8:46 a.m. at the Public Safety Center (1810 MLK Jr. Dr.) where Master Sergeant Bronson Moss will deliver a tribute to honor courage and unity. MyArkLaMiss
- ➤ The Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries Commission approved an emergency rule that allows disabled veterans to use any legal weapon during the primitive firearms deer season in the 2025–2026 Resident Game Hunting Season — a change that applies statewide across all 10 designated deer areas and aligns with exemptions for youth and senior hunters.
