St. Joseph Missionary Baptist Church held its After-School Start-Bash Saturday at 10 a.m. in West Monroe to help families with free school supplies, new children's clothing, haircuts, Bibles, and vaccinations (community partners provided safety tips and support services).
St. Joseph MBC hosted an after school event on Sept.
21, 2025 to offer homework help and fun activities for local children. The program gave families a safe place for learning—helping kids stay on track after school.
The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries is asking local residents, hunters, trappers, and outdoor enthusiasts to report sightings of the eastern spotted skunk, a species that has not been documented for over 30 years — reports that will help biologists determine its current status.
