- ➤ Ouachita Green Director Sheila Kay Downhour told Good Morning ArkLaMiss that the organization will host the Fall Family Fun Fest — a family event set for Oct. 25 — along with several cleanup events planned to improve community spaces. KNOE
- ➤ The City of West Monroe is set to celebrate 100 years of Kiroli Park on Saturday, October 18 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and residents are invited to join in honoring a landmark that has been central to the community—an event marking a century of local history. MyArkLaMiss
- ➤ Kiroli Park in West Monroe is getting upgraded with concrete seating, stars and rails to make the amphitheater more accessible—work funded by the Living Well Foundation. The project is set to finish the week of Oct. 20. KNOE
- ➤ The Kiwanis Club of Greater Ouachita announced it will host its 70th annual pancake day on Nov. 4 at First Methodist Church on Loop Road—tickets cost $10 and can be bought from a club member during Tuesday meetings at Nolan's Bistro; proceeds will support community projects and scholarships for local students. - ➤ West Monroe will expand its economic development district to add new Lake Latigo Cabins near the Ike Hamilton Expo Center—introducing 24 fully furnished short-stay units now with plans to eventually reach 57 cabins.
