COMMUNITY NEWS

  • The Living Well Foundation hosted its annual luncheon at the West Monroe Convention Center on Oct. 23rd to highlight its impact across Northeast Louisiana—inviting nonprofits, leaders, and residents to collaborate on future community projects.  KNOE
  • Ouachita Green announced the Family Fun Fest will be held this Saturday from 2 to 6 p.m. at West Monroe Sports & Events Complex—moved from its original location at Kiroli Park. The event will include activities for all ages—performances, costume contests for humans and pets and nearly 70 booths offering free activities.  MyArkLaMiss

CULTURE NEWS

  • Dr. Sandra Lunte and her former students will perform as the Origins Flute Quartet at the Emy-Lou Biedenharn Recital Hall on October 27 at 7:30 p.m.—she celebrates 31 years at ULM as each member selects a 20th century piece for the show. The event is free for ULM students and faculty with I.D.  KEDM

HEALTH NEWS

  • The Women's Symposium Empower Board is hosting a free guided meditation event called Sound Bath by Courtney George on October 29 at 4:30 p.m. at the Liew International Student Center — participants should wear comfortable clothes, bring a yoga mat, and pre-register to attend.  KEDM
  • Dysautonomia Louisiana, started by patient Carmen Gonzalez, will host events across North Louisiana to educate and connect people affected by the condition by providing support with insurance and mobility aids—its efforts further marked by the Monroe Civic Center lighting on Oct.28 for Dysautonomia Awareness Month.  KNOE

SPORTS NEWS

  • Monroe residents can join Beat the Ace: Week 8, an online contest where players try to beat a pigskin prognosticator by picking their lucky number eight—hosted by KNOE. The challenge offers local sports fans a fun way to test their skills and win recognition.  KNOE
  • Discover Monroe-West Monroe is seeking volunteers for the 2026 NWBA Adult and Junior Division National Championships in March at the West Monroe Sports & Events facility—this will be the first para-athlete national championship hosted in Ouachita Parish—and it will bring additional para-athletic competition to the area.  MyArkLaMiss
  • The West Monroe Rebels were named Team of the Week and the team celebrates their selection—highlighting their strong drive during the season.  KNOE
  • The Ruston Bearcats were named Team of the Week by KNOE—earning the honor for their strong play as they continue to impress local fans.  KNOE
