BUSINESS NEWS
- ➤ The University of Louisiana Monroe College of Business and Social Sciences will host the Business Outlook Summit 2025 at Bayou Pointe Event Center on November 14 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. + The event will feature national, state and local speakers including keynote expert John Stoltzfus to provide economic forecasts that guide the community as it plans for 2026. - ➤ Nominations for the 2026 Remarkable Women are open with entries accepted until December 29—West Monroe residents can honor inspiring women in their community. A 60-minute special will air in March on the CW, NewsNation and local Nexstar stations—showcasing the winners during Women’s History Month. MyArkLaMiss
- ➤ Chennault Fest will take place from Nov 7 to Nov 8 at the Chennault Aviation & Military Museum and features rides, a Ferris wheel, live music – Parish County Line on Nov 7 and American Idol winner Laine Hardy on Nov 8 – a petting zoo, food trucks and a fundraiser for the museum and General Claire Chennault Foundation. Tickets cost $20 for adults, $5 for youth and $10 for military. KNOE

- ➤ The CPSB met yesterday to address parking and traffic congestion at T.S. Cooley and Moss Bluff Elementary Schools—looking at ways to ease problems during drop-off and pick-up times. KNOE
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Ouachita Green will host the America Recycles Day event at the Monroe Civic Center on November 15 from 9 a.m.—1 p.m. The drive-through event will let residents drop off personal recyclable materials while volunteers assist to promote recycling and protect the environment. KNOE
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Roma Kidd, the ARCO Executive Director, will retire after 44 years. She said her greatest joy was watching individuals thrive from early-intervention services to plans for independent living and job opportunities. KNOE
- ➤ Governor Jeff Landry declared Drowsy Driving Prevention Week to help drivers stay alert, and state highway safety officials in Monroe advise spending time outdoors, exercising, and keeping regular meal times to prevent drowsiness before driving. They recommend anyone feeling sleepy should pull over or get a ride, even if close to home. KNOE

- ➤ Due to a broken water main, the Cheniere Drew North Water System's water is of questionable quality — a limited boil advisory is in effect for customers on Britton Rd, Pine Hills Dr, Hedge Hill Dr, Hodge Hill Cove, Southern Lakes Dr, and for addresses 1011 to 1250 on Hwy 80 E in West Monroe.
