- ➤ A Sterlington family is searching for a vase they believe was accidentally donated after the passing of Christa Delph’s mother. The couple has checked vendor markets including What She Shed and hopes to recover the heirloom before Christmas. KNOE
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Jabari and Belize, two spider monkeys with friendly dispositions, are on display at Louisiana Purchase Gardens and Zoo in Monroe today during zoo hours from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Construction for the new exhibit is underway, but reptile educational programs and volunteer opportunities continue + keeping visitors engaged. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Grow NELA is negotiating to expand flights into Monroe airport after City Council approved the plan — Barnes said officials will also target additional flights from other airports. KNOE
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ The FDA approved a new weight loss drug that may be available in a few weeks (it must be taken on an empty stomach). Clinical trials showed patients lost an average of 13.6% of their body weight when using the drug with diet and exercise, though concerns about affordability remain. KNOE
- ➤ Dawn Foster from Pet Sense by Tractor Supply warns that common holiday plants (holly, mistletoe, amaryllis, and poinsettia) are toxic to dogs and cats. Residents are urged to monitor pets and seek veterinary care if symptoms appear. KNOE
